How Clearpay Works
We're excited to offer Clearpay for tattoo appointments up to £1,000, making it easier to spread the cost of larger pieces over 4 interest-free instalments.
To make sure everything runs smoothly, please read the information below.
How Does Clearpay Decide My Spending Limit?
Every Clearpay customer has a personal spending limit, which is decided entirely by Clearpay based on factors such as your account history, payment history, and their own affordability checks.
Your available spending limit can increase or decrease over time and is not something we can see, change or influence. Even if you've previously used Clearpay, there is no guarantee that you'll be approved for every purchase, as each transaction is assessed individually by Clearpay.
For this reason, we ask all clients wishing to use Clearpay to check their available in-store limit before their appointment.
1. Download the Clearpay App
Before your appointment, download the Clearpay app and make sure your account is fully set up with a valid debit or credit card linked to it.
2. Check Your In-Store Spending Limit
Clearpay has separate spending limits for online purchases and in-store purchases.
Open the Clearpay app and tap the Card (or In-Store) tab to view your Available to spend in-store balance.
3. Send Us a Screenshot
Please send us a screenshot showing your available in-store spending limit before your appointment. This allows us to confirm that your tattoo can be paid for using Clearpay and helps avoid any issues on the day.
4. On the Day of Your Appointment
Your booking deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your tattoo.
At the start of your appointment, you'll:
-
Open the Clearpay app.
-
Activate your digital Clearpay card.
-
Tap your phone on our card reader like a normal contactless payment.
Please note: The payment must be taken before we begin tattooing, as we cannot proceed without successful payment.
5. Your First Instalment
Clearpay will take the first 25% of your remaining balance immediately when the payment is processed.
Please make sure you have enough money available in your linked bank account to cover this first instalment. If you don't, Clearpay will decline the payment.
